The first bookings are in, which means my AI course is definitely going ahead. I’m really pleased.
I am running a simple, accessible fun course for non-technical people to understand what AI actually is, without hype or unnecessary complexity.
Why I created this course
Over the last few years, I’ve noticed the same pattern again and again: people are surrounded by AI, but very few feel confident about what it actually means.
There’s a lot of noise — tools, headlines, predictions, warnings — but not much clarity.
Most of the people I work with don’t need to build AI systems. They just need to understand:
- what AI is (in plain terms)
- where it is being used
- what it can and cannot do
- and how to think about it critically in their work and everyday life
This course is designed to fill that gap.
Who it’s for
This course is designed for non-technical learners — people who are curious about AI but don’t come from a computing or data background.
It may be useful if you are:
- working in education, design, or the creative industries
- managing digital tools in your daily life
- interested in AI but overwhelmed
- wanting to know if AI is really changing things around us
What we’ll cover
Across four sessions, we’ll explore:
The Foundations
How AI actually works (in simple terms) and why it sometimes feels human.
The Practical
Prompting, privacy, and a hands-on look at free tools to get you started.
(ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude for text, images, content, and creative AI for video, music, and voice.)
The Big Picture
Deepfakes, spotting them, the law and ethics.
AI in the now and the future
How AI is already being used today, and what is likely to change over time, in everyday life.
The focus is always on understanding.
Course format
The course runs over four live online sessions:
Wednesdays 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th July 8:00–9:00pm BST
There is one concise handout with hints, exercises and links. In each session we will do demos, talk about how AI actually works, and send everyone away with things to try.
It’s designed to be confidence building and conversational.
A note on accessibility
I’ve deliberately kept the course fee at £49 because I wanted it to be accessible to anyone who is genuinely interested in understanding AI.
The aim is not exclusivity — it’s clarity.
Final thoughts
This is the second time I’ve run this course in this format, and I’m really looking forward to it.
