You Can’t Fall Off: From Social Media Burnout to Buzzing New Designers and AI for ourselves

Posted by

Well… it happened.

Just one week into promoting my AI course, I hit complete social media burnout and spent the rest of the week wandering around dramatically claiming I’ve got burnout!!

Though I thought the first (and perhaps, only) social media reel was not too bad. Check it out here:

I am really not designed for this sort of thing. I’m happiest sitting quietly by my laptop thinking BIG THOUGHTS about my next cup of tea and whether the cats need a snack—which, judging by the fact they sit on my keyboard, they do. Putting myself out there is definitely not me.

So, to counteract the drama, I did the only sensible thing.

On Thursday evening I headed to the Islington Business Design Centre and spent a lovely evening wandering around the New Designers 2026 exhibition, sipping BuzzBallz (ridiculously sugary cocktails in a plastic ball that had me bouncing off the walls), and talking to wonderfully talented young designers.

It was exactly the reality check I needed.

Their creativity and enthusiasm were infectious, and I came away inspired and honoured that so many of them took the time to share their hopes and dreams, and a sticker – I love a good sticker – with me.

A couple of them got a raw deal being stuck right at the back, and had funded themselves to be there. So, genuinely in awe of their thoughtful work, I collected their details and offered to write about them. If there’s one thing I can do, it’s give their SEO a little helping hand, that’s why I have a website.

Hopefully the people who can help launch their careers will now find them a little more easily. Because you know what? The future is really bright. It’s full of thoughtful, creative young people who will make our lives better.

Feeling refreshed, I’m ready to go again—and I’m really looking forward to hosting my FREE live AI taster session tomorrow evening (Monday, 6 July) at 8:00 PM. Last week’s session was lovely and I really enjoyed it.

If you’re curious about AI but don’t know where to start, this is the perfect opportunity. No jargon, no pressure—just practical, friendly guidance. And if you know someone who could do with a confidence boost when it comes to AI, please do forward this email to them.

This session is about using AI to describe yourself – as I think we tend to forget how fab we are as we go about our daily lives – so you will get a little handout to take away for you to explore you, alongside learning that AI is just a tool – nothing more.

Join the free live taster session tomorrow at 8:00 PM.

You can’t fall off, as my mam used to say.

I’d love to see you tomorrow evening. Come join me. Learn how to use AI to learn about yourself!
